The Games of Love is the second part of the 30th episode of the first season of the series Heathcliff & the Catillac Cats.

Synopsis[]

Mungo meets a girl cat named Dixie, whom he falls in love with, but in order to go out with her, he will have to beat her brother Jake in a competition.

Plot[]

At the olympics, dogs and cats are doing gymnatics, awhile Mungo is chased by angry dogs, he jumps to the pit filled with cheese for the dogs to catch up to him and attack him till, they noticed a white blonde girl cat is going to the pole vault, the dogs decide to flee as Mungo noticed the female cat and is fallen in love with her as she completes the pole vault and lands on the cheese pit, she lands on Mungo as she noticed him is under her, Mungo introudces himself to her, as the female cat says her name is Dixie, the two lock eyes on each other as Mungo asks if she is here often, she confirms that she does come here, Dixie had to leave, but before that she admits that she is intrested in Mungo by saying he's cute, as Mungo falls over of flirtations, an olympic cat sees and is furious.

Mungo goes back in junkyard in Cadillac, picking out petals of a flower to see if she loves him or not, as Hector and Wordsworth then noticed that Mungo is love, as the bulk olympic cat shows up on the Cadilliac as he looking for Mungo, the cat was Dixie's brother Jake, he tells that Dixie is in training for the big track and field meeting and doesn't want anyone to bug her, as leader, Hector tells him that Mungo is also on track, as Jake wants to know which event he's participtanting in, Hector says all of them, as Jake is doing all the event as well, he then tells them that if Mungo could beat him then he'll allow him to go out with Dixie. Hector ask if he doens't beat him, Jake then tells him that they will be used as javelin catchers as the three imagines how this will be like, Jake leaves them to go to the olympics, Hector gets an idea to train Mungo for olympics.

As Hector and Wordsworth train Mungo so he can go out with Dixie. Mungo starts withpole-vaulting, he stuck due to his heaviness this doesn't work out as plans and land both Hector and Wordsworth, as Mungo ask how he did, Hector tells him that needs to work on the direction. Next Mungo will have to do shot puttin', Wordsworth demostrates, but he falls shot ball lands on his face. Hector moves on to test how Mungo does in hurdles, but he problems jumping over the fence, which Mungo tells them the event was fun and would do it again, Wordsworth considers leaving town before Hector stops him as he has a another plan.

Back at the olympics, Mungo asks out Dixie on a date to eat fish sandwich together, as Dixie agrees that makes Mungo blush. Jake tells them in case they lose to Hector and Wordsworth, when Jake mentions the "last guys" who are javelin catchers, Hector questions to what happen to them, as Jake tells them that he used one of them as a fishing net and the other to spaghetti strainer as Hector and Wordsworth try to talk friendly with the muscle-bound cat, Jake tells that the first event will be the shot put.

Hector tells Mungo to throw it as far as he could, as they will take care of the competion, as Jake gives him the put, Mungo has trouble holding it, when throwing it, he drops it Jake's foot, as Mungo aplogies as Hector tells him to calm down as it was an accident, As its Jake's turn on the puts, Wordsworth uses a magnet to pull Jake with a iron ball into a wall, next event they do hurdles as they start, Mungo has a bit trouble awhile Jake does it successfully. he cloes to the finsih line until he lands on pothhole, the next event is pole vault as Jake does the starts pole vaulting, his sticks is brokes apart as causing Jake to fall, this gets Dixie's attention, as Hector and Wordsworth burst out laughing out, Jake believes that they cheated and plan to cause them harm until Dixie stands up for them and wants Jake's explaination as Jake tells her that they couldn't beat them in track and field event, as Dixie replies "so", Jake then says that if Mungo wins, he can her to the date, Dixie tells Jake straight up that she will go out with Mungo regardless of his disagreement, which the bet off, as Dixie takes Mungo with him, as Hector and Wordsworth are left with Jake as they nervously walk off as Jake gets angry as he aknowleges that the bet is off, he takes his frustrations to by chasing Hector and Wordswoth.

Hector is trying to figure out what they get, instead get an angry Jake as the angry alehtic cat chases the two cats around the arena. Mungo and Dixie walk together, as Dixie admires his apperance as Mungo blushes, Mungo hits his head the celing when flipping for Dixie's admiration, as Dixie giggles as the episode closes in a heart with Mungo and Dixie.

  • Riff-Raff and Cleo (despite both being in the title card) do not appear in this episode, although Riff-Raff is mentioned at one point in the episode.
